HGM2007

The mission of HGM2007 is to help delegates update and expand their knowledge in the ever-evolving field of human genome research. A stimulating and interesting programme of plenary lectures, symposia, workshops, poster presentations, and social events make HGM2007 and ideal forum to share information and results with researchers in both science and industry. This is an increasingly exciting time for scientists working on the Human Genome, and HGM2007 provides an opportunity for participants to establish international collaborations.

The Montréal Region

The Greater Montréal Region is home to some 3.7 million people of diverse cultures, where over 100 languages and dialects are used. Although French is the predominant language, English is spoken in all tourist establishments. This diversity is reflected in the city's wide variety of cultural events and exceptional choice of restaurants. Every year, Montréal hosts several international festivals that showcase jazz, comedy, theatre, cinema, and fireworks. Montréal is located halfway between Ottawa, Canada's capital, and Québec City, the capital of the province of Québec.

The Palais de congrès de Montréal is strategically located at the centre of the international district or Quartier international de Montréal, and is within short walking distance of the downtown business core, Chinatown, and Old Montréal, where the atmosphere is always festive, set against a backdrop of Montréal's rich history. The Palais is also linked to downtown by North America's first indoor pedestrian network, the longest in the world.
